In a move that could allow it to significantly increase its primary care services to older adults and those on Medicare, CVS Health made it official recently that it is buying Oak Street Health for $10.6 billion, including debt.

AARP selected Oak Street Health as a trusted primary care provider because of its dedication to high-quality healthcare for all Medicare patients.

Oak Street Health's top competitors include Galileo, Aledade, and Carbon Health.

Oak Street reported a medical loss ratio of 79.5% in the quarter, lower than analyst expectations. Its medical claims expense was $427.4 million, up 38% year over year. “OSH did a good job managing medical spend during the quarter,” SVB Securities analysts wrote in a note on the results.
