At a recent job fair, I was very impressed by local company TOMRA; a technology leader, present in over 100 countries and with over 5000 employees globally. Manufacturer of reverse vending machines and enabling a circular economy with the advanced collection and sorting systems, and food processing by employing sensor-based sorting and grading technology. The below are just some of the job openings, visiting the company website lists several positions globally. Love the company tag line: "Join the Resource Revolution"

Remember that TINY cone of the GIANT Redwood Tree? While what's inside, at first glance, looks insignificant, this amazing tree grows from it - for hundreds and hundreds of years - and it creates more life (abundance), too!We have some new people on this page: Mickey Mikeworth, Sarah Steffen, Rafael Rosa, Rosemary Senjem, Suzy (Susan) Ross, Phil Courey, Kathryn Sharpe, Josie Pitts, Libby Rau, Mollie Thompson, Christopher "Bud" Ahrens- welcome to Spark Potential!I am so curious: 🌲 What is an example of a tiny beginning in your life, and what are its ripples today? A TINY beginning for me was attending a summer camp job fair in college. I had no idea how that day would shift my life. It put me on a path to youth development and education - a life that's been so meaningful for me because as I experienced camp, I discovered a core belief - that everyone has a birthright to believe in themselves and experience the beauty of WHO they are! Helping people find their sense of self became my life's passion. The TINY beginning of my self-discovery continues to live and breathe in me today. It's the reason my energy is shifting to coaching rising youth development leaders. I'm not sure it would have happened if I ignored my RA saying - "you should go check out the summer camp job fair."What is one of your TINY beginnings? How is it impacting you today?

Did someone say "interns"? EGGER North America not only offers paid internships, but also apprenticeship programs AND the opportunity for graduate students to write about Egger in capstone projects. Growth mindset, anyone? #growandlearn #growthmindset #growwithus

While I think it’s great that Manitoba IEC is supporting rural development though activities such as today’s job fair. (and if you are interested in moving to rural Manitoba go check it out!)I also hope to see them in the future focus on areas that are indirectly related to rural job success and development. In order for people to successfully stay in rural we need:·More supports for rural businesses that hire newcomers.·More affordable housing (and housing in general in the rural areas).·More supports for adults to get their driver’s license in rural (this is huge!).·More educational options for adults (literacy is a big one!)As someone who has lived and worked in rural Manitoba most of my life I understand the challenges. It needs to be a multi-layer approach to be successful.#esl #eslteacher #eslteaching #ruraldevelopment #ruralmanitoba #manitobaiec #manitoba #manitobabusiness #interlakemanitoba #manitobaimmigration #movetomanitoba #learnenglish #traininganddevelopment
