Jujutsu Kaisen: Yuji’s Reversed Cursed Technique Training - AMK Station (2024)
Despite its release date being April 29, 2024, the spoilers for Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 258 have already been revealed. These spoilers shed light on how Itadori became a formidable cursed sorcerer through rigorous training under experienced mentors and peers.
This chapter primarily focused on flashbacks to Itadori’s training, similar to the previous ones. Through these flashbacks, viewers learned about Kusakabe’s possession of Itadori’s body through Ui Ui’s cursed technique and how this aided the protagonist in mastering new cursed techniques.
The reverse-cursed technique, also known as the healing technique, was considered one of the cursed techniques. Choso proposed that Yuji could acquire this technique by consuming the remaining Death Painting Wombs. Additionally, Kusakabe taught Yuji how to use this technique by utilizing Ui Ui’s cursed technique to switch bodies with him.

Discovering the Training Process Itadori Went Through to Learn the Reverse Cursed Technique in Jujutsu Kaisen
Based on the spoilers of the chapter, it is revealed that the chapter opens with the revelation that Gojo was able to activate his RCT because he had awoken during the battle with Sukuna. The story then continues with the ongoing fight and exposes Sukuna’s weakened state as he was unable to use RCT against Itadori’s relentless onslaught of Black Flash techniques.
As a result, Sukuna was forced to utilize his domain expansion, Malevolent Shrine. The chapter then shifts to a flashback of Itadori’s training, during which Choso expresses his belief that his brother has the ability to awaken RCT on his own. In order to teach him how to activate this technique, he questioned the Jujutsu High sorcerers about their methods of recovering blood through their cursed energy.
RCT, short for reverse-cursed technique, is a sophisticated cursed technique in which a sorcerer harnesses their cursed energy to produce positive energy for healing. Shoko Ieiri is credited as the first to perfect this technique during her time in high school. It was also the very technique that saved Gojo from certain death after his intense battle with Toji Fushigoro.
Yuta and Hakari, known for their incredible strength, were unable to provide an answer to the question as they were naturally skilled in this area. However, Shoko clarified that she used her cursed energy to directly convert it into blood in order to recover from the situation. Choso then added that he did the same.
Despite the lack of time for a proper training process, Choso suggested that Yuji consume the remaining Death Womb Paintings and learn how to produce blood through cursed energy. Additionally, Choso insisted on finding an experienced RCT user to teach Yuji the fundamentals of RCT.
Kusakabe took over and employed Ui Ui’s cursed technique to exchange the souls between Itadori and himself. Yuji had two key factors that helped him learn RCT quickly: firstly, his unique body composition, as asserted by Choso in the chapter, which gave him a stronger and more resilient physical form than that of an ordinary human; and secondly, Yuji was accustomed to using special grade techniques due to Sukuna having utilized his body for a considerable period of time in battle.
The scene shifted back to the ongoing battle, with Sukuna utilizing his domain expansion. In response, Yuji employed the Simple Domain technique that Kusakabe had taught him, along with the fundamentals of RCT. However, Yuji’s Simple Domain proved to be insufficient, resulting in the loss of his left leg due to the King of Curses’ cursed technique. Eventually, Sukuna’s domain dissipated and he switched to his flame-cursed technique, Fuga.
In chapter 250 of Jujutsu Kaisen, Yuta joined the battle against the King of Curses and teamed up with Yuji to defeat him. Amazed by their progress, he inquired about their recent activities.
Yuji was about to mention the importance of hard work, but Yuta cut in and accused them of cheating. Yuta considered Itadori’s method of learning RCT, which involved exchanging souls with Kusakabe and consuming Death Painting Wombs, as cheating because it allowed him to learn quickly.

Jujutsu Kaisen introduces us to another technique that Yuji is capable of using.

The recently released Jujutsu Kaisen manga chapter 248 reveals that Yuji Itadori can now use the Reverse Cursed Technique, catching readers and his opponent off-guard. When Yuji engages in a battle against the King of Curses, Ryomen Sukuna, he employs the Reverse Cursed Technique to mend his body.
Reverse cursed technique can even heal the soul, but this requires the unique ability to perceive the shape of the soul. Reverse cursed technique is extremely complex and difficult for most jujutsu sorcerers to perform.
Yuji has two Cursed Techniques, Blood Manipulation and Sukuna's Cursed Technique, called Shrine. Yuji manifested Sukuna's Cursed Technique from being Sukuna's vessel as Gojo speculated. Yuji's awakening threatens Sukuna, making his defeat a very real possibility and solidifying Yuji's role as protagonist.
Currently, Gojo is the strongest magician in the world of Jujutsu Kaisen, especially after he awakened the greatest potential within himself. Not only reverse technique, but Gojo also has various other high-level curses such as Limitless and Six Eyes.
Right now, Yuji can be considered to be one of the very best sorcerers in Jujutsu High. His level of strength is such that he can stand his ground against the likes of Sukuna, which is certainly not a small feat by any means.
Yuji Itadori successfully managed to learn the ability of reverse cursed technique, and with it, he can heal from quite a lot of dangerous injuries. This ability first manifested when he was fighting against Sukuna, and he did it in quite some style.
Throughout its history, Red has been notoriously difficult for inheritors of the Limitless to use, even Satoru Gojo. This is mainly because the ability to use a reverse cursed technique is extremely rare and complicated to achieve, unbiased even to the Big Three Families.
Red, or Reversed Limitless, reverses Limitless through the concept of divergence, generating the power to repel. This technique can be used to unleash immense explosive force in an instant. The energy output of Red is at least twice as much as the output of Blue.
To put it simply, Gojo didn't learn Reverse Cursed Technique, he got in the zone figured it out. As he explains in the above scan, Gojo understood the theory behind RCT he just couldn't figure out how to actually go through with it. Until of course, Toji “so kindly” stabbed him.
Yuji became extremely powerful in JJK chapter 257 and unleashed a barrage of powerful attacks on Sukuna. A lot of the fans did expect Yuji to land more Black Flashes against Sukuna, and that is precisely what happened.
Yuji Itadori has awoken Reverse Cursed Technique, a powerful ability that allows him to heal himself and potentially others using positive energy instead of negative energy. This makes Yuji one of the strongest sorcerers in the story and gives him an edge in his ongoing battle against the King of Curses, Sukuna.
In fact, when he started getting hit by him again and again, he counted the techniques that he had seen Yuta utilize. He then wondered to himself if Yuta had access to the Limitless as well. However, he discarded this hypothesis, stating that Limitless can only be utilized properly through the user of Six Eyes.
Among the many formidable jujutsu sorcerers in the world of Jujutsu Kaisen, Satoru Gojo stands out as the indisputable master of the Limitless technique. Gojo is frequently considered Jujutsu Kaisen's strongest sorcerer, and a key part of that is his access to the ridiculously powerful Limitless technique.
From there onwards, he enrolled in Tokyo Jujutsu High and trained tremendously hard under Gojo. Itadori became extremely powerful in no time, however, much to the surprise of the fans, he did not have any cursed technique. The likes of Megumi certainly were born with one.
Right now, Yuji has not showcased the power of Domain Expansion at all. However, that certainly doesn't mean that he will not gain this power in the future. As JJK continues, Yuji is likely to awaken a Domain Expansion, which will most certainly be similar to Malevolent Shrine.
His control over space is awe-inspiring, as he can create spatial barriers or transport himself and others instantly. The sheer might of Limitless cements Gojo as an indomitable force, epitomizing the pinnacle of cursed techniques within the captivating and high-stakes world.
